Hi ,
i was born in 1983 in canada..my parents were on a work permit than..Ever since then we are staying in india....i am holding a indian passport right now....am i eligible for the citizenship?...i have my canadian birth certificate..plz guide me

If your parents were not residing (in Canada) as Indian government employees (diplomats, to be specific) when you were born, you are a cdn citizen. Contact Cdn High Comission in New Delhi.

Since they were in Canada on work permits, I can safely say they were not diplomats. Thus you are a Canadian citizen by birth. The interesting part is, the moment you are issued a Canadian passport, you will need to get some sort of long term residence permit for India since as an adult you cannot hold an Indian passport and a foreign one.
