Alternatives to GC, time to think.

To those who have not realized this its time to wake up.Come guys and gals nobody is getting approved for next
7-8 months due to freeze.(The INS memo in other thread said months before the freeze can be lifted!!!).In this
soft economy most of the waiting applicants would eventually be laid off. Thus it is prudent to find
alternatives to immigrate. I bet lets think about Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Actually people who
apllied in 2002 should forget about getting approved before next December. So why not find a safety net to fall
back on.

As per your post you also not getting approved before next december if CIA check takes 18 months. There is list which CIA have for you LAYOFFBABA they will give free Immigration to AFGANISTAN or GUANTAMU BAY CUBA.
PLease migrate there you will find many off your friends there..

I think for you those places will be better because some will belive in your bluff..

Actually .. Tahiti is more appealing. White sandy beaches, blue lagoons (NOT THE MOVIE), laid back lifestyles, no deadlines, no pressure from peers .... :) :)

Soft economy started 2 years back, when we saw more layoffs than the present. Process should have stopped then. Instead it continued till last month. There may be a valid reason for small period of delay. Govt policies wont change over night. If so, atleast there will be some sort of "pilot" news. INS binds against LAW. All 485ns are approved by govt, that they are required fellows for the company as locals were not available. It is only adjustment of status. Decision was already been made that they need us and there was place in society. The limit on immigrants number is not changed. So I believe " der hai andher nahi"

GOD is seeing the truth but is waiting....

GC_ka_jhanjhat you may be right regarding
govt not changing their policies overnight but goverment can
go slow in fact INS is at a dead stop. Lot of guys will have to take leave or quit because their EAD's didnot come.

Having applied for 485 is of no use if you cannot work. How come even the EAD's are not getting issued

May be this is how govt intends to give americans jobs by getting rid of the immigrants who came in during the Y2K and dot com boom.

It is always better to have a followup action if thinks don't work out.No harm in that . LAYOFFBABA might be right for once
