Hi Guys,

I am starting this thread to share some information on receiving approval notice and stamping. Those who have been approved, following information is usefull.

1). Those who r approved, if they did receive approval notice, if yes, then after how many days after getting approval e-mail.

2). After getting approval notice, stamping experience.

Really appreciate if you guys share some experience and also some experience for card for kids.

In my case, I am approved on Jun 24th and kids on Jun 25th. Waiting for approval Notice. For my kids, I got e-mail saying that card has been ordered.
I heard kids may get card in about 1 month of time. Please share some info...

I was approved on June 24, waiting for Approval Notice. I saw a strange thing on my LUD,here is the sequence of changes :

Was 12/03/03
Changed to 06/15/2004
Then to 06/24/2004 (I was approved on this day).
Yesterday I checked and it was changed to 06/25/2004(thank god still says "Approved")

I think they must have mailed the notice on 25 and therefore LUD changed on this day.

Any other Guess????????????????????

Yes, my LUD also changed from 5/13/04 (post RFE Response receipt), to 6/24/04 (Approval date), to 6/25/04 (still says Approved). I'm still waiting for the courtesy copy of the approval notice. My local office is Philadelphia.

Hi
I thinks that Normal
My Case is Approved on June 28th 2004
Yesterday LUD was June 28th 2004
Today (June 29 ) is June 29 2004
But Yeah Very right "Approved Message"
I'm still waiting for the courtesy copy of the approval notice. My local office is Newark.

Thanks

Yep,

The same thing with me. My LUD was Jun 24th when I received e-mails and then again changed to Jun 25th. I guess Jun 25th is the LUD which they ordered to send Approval Notice.

Hhhmmm interesting, So UCIS is becoming accountable :) :)
Now expect the LUD to change when they put the approval notice in the envelope, stamp the letter and then drop it in the post box. :) :)
That's what I call efficiency. :D

My case was approved on June 25th. And the LUD is June 28th. Going by the logic in the previous messages, looks like the approval notice was mailed on June 28th. Hoping to go in for stamping as soon as the approval notice is received.

Could you please post your stamping experience if you already haven't done so? If you have, then can you post the link to it? Thanks.

I actually received my courtesy copies three weeks after the approval. By that time, we received the copies from lawyer, and finished stamping. The courtesy copies were sent to old address, and then returned, and mailed again to new address.

Stamping experience was pretty smooth. Took the token. Gave the fp and took that I-551 thing. Waited and waited. Was called after a couple of hours. Officer took the papers with EAD/APs. Asked us to out the adrees on the main approval notice on where we want the cards to be sent (it has lawyer's address in it), and that is about all. Whole process took like 5 minutes.

The only thing now what is bothersome is - I have to carry my passport with me all the time (as it is a requirement to carry GC with you all the time) till we get the actual card. Carrying the passport maybe is not too much hassle, but still somewhat is!

Anyway - best of luck!

Got stamped yesterday

Was approved on June 17th, 2004

Receive courtesy copy June 23rd, 2004
Lawyer receivec original June 24th, 2004

Went for stamping in in the Arlington office.
Went in around 9.15 AM.
Had to wait for about 45mins to get the token.

Went in the room around 10.10AM.
Waited for around 3 hours.

The officer asked for the approval letters for me and my wife.
Took the EAD cards (I did not give the APs and he did not ask for it).
Took the index fingerprints for both of us.
Stamped and it is valid for 1 year till June 28th, 2005.
Said we do not need EAD, AP hereafter and card will come in about 1 year time. So this process is just a 10-minute job.

I do not understand why can't they fix up appointments so that it will be easy for all parties concerned.

Hope this information is useful and let me know if you guys want any information.

Just an Update

Update !!

Just called my lawyer and he said that he had recieved the Approval Notice for me (Primary) but nothing for my wife (Secondary).

Hi tsher:

-- I have to carry my passport with me all the time

You don't have to keep your passport all the time except when you are travellig (i think).
You should know where it is and can provide when asked. (this is what it mean to keep the GC with you).
Hope this will help.

Your approval letter should be with you in 4-5 days.
My lawyer and I received the same day.

Stamping experience was very tiring. Took 7 hrs for the whole process. Actual time I was on the window was 7 mins.

Munnbhai02,

Can you please post your detailed experience of stamping, as to why it was tiring some. Please start from parking till you are out of office. May be we learn some dos and dont's from you..

Thank you...

Guys,

I got approval notices yesterday for entire family.

For me and my wife, I was asked to bring ADIT styled pics, and you will be finger prints etc.. but for my kids, Approval Notice is a welcome notice and it says, New card has been ordered and you will receive in next 3 weeks.

So my question is, Kids need not go for Stamping ? and no need of ADIT styled pics for kids ?

Can I go for stamping in the days other than wednesdays ?
