all the interview officers I saw at my local USCIS were foreign-born

while I was sitting in the waiting area, waiting for my name to be called, I noticed something very interesting. (there were about 40 people around me,
and I showed up a little too early, so plenty of time to observce stuff)

As each interview officer opened the door and called out the N400 applicant's name, I noticed that they were all foreign-born.(based on face and English accent that they had) I saw a total of 8 or 9 officers. Obviously I couldn't ask
"hey, where are you from?" :) but based on my own observation, here's a
list of where they were possibly from originally.

2 Fillipino
1 Korean
2 Latin American
1 Vietnamese(or Cambodian)
1 Carribean
1 Japanese
1 East European(possibly Czech or Polish?)

one thread please! There are like 5 threads on ur "interview" and follow up/excitement to be American/observations/question on big file/clothes... We can have one thread and posts in that to avoid flooding.

Yes, I'd like to apologize for this. :( I just got way too excited. I promise not to
start another thread until I receive my spanking new US passport !!!!! :D

This forum is the only place where people understand each other. I was telling my
friend(native white guy) about my oath ceremony and his response was "what?
don't you guys become citizens the minute you land in O'Hare?" (sound of my jaw
dropping on the granite floor) :( I guess most average Americans think citizenship
grows on trees or something... :D :D

Yes, it looks like a certain amount of naturalized immigrants gravitate towards immigration jobs and they seem to take some pleasure about screwing up with immigrants lives of those who come behind them. Please, this comment is a bit tongue in cheek, kind of Friday casual comment ;) I don't have any complaint about how my naturalization was handled, and the interview and the oath, but I know that USCIS messes some people's lives quite a bit.

And here I was looking forward to your story about your ex-girlfriend stabbing you in the neck during a heated argument.:D

as I was a domestic violence victim caused by an angry ex-girlfriend,
I can assure you that it was hell.... :( fortunately, I found refugee
in America. :) (not to gross you out, but she stabbed me in the throat)

Ok, this thread will discuss that

Wow!!! She was so vengeful!!! or what!?? :o

no, no.... I actually thought that was pretty cool. (that all the IOs were
immigrants who came before me) All the USCIS people that I have personally
dealt with have been very courteous and professional to me... :)
