Alien registration number

I dont think you can do anything with your A# ..To get a DL they usally want you to have a SS# and your A# wont get you a SS# :( I know I have tried

Okay, thanks :)

Going for my biometrics appointment today, driving down there in 45 minutes. Trying to look presentable for my picture ;)

No idea, just received an email thus far, no mail from them yet. I have a few theories about what it could be as it was for my I 485. Will only know for sure when I get the letter :)

I think it might be for my joint sponsor's birth certificate to prove he's an American citizen.

Okay, got the RFE today and breathed a huge sigh of relief that it wasn't anything drastic. It's just for our joint sponsor's birth certificate that we neglected to place with the application. As soon as we get that, we'll send it back to the Chicago office which is where they said to send it to. Woohoo!!

We just mailed our package last week. I am the sponsor and I make enough money. Just to be safe, we filled I864 & I864A. here is the question:
I have not attached my BC as it's not required anywhere... but attached COPY OF my naturalization certificate along with I130.

Looking at vaishali81's RFE, I am wondering whether it's required or not

Well, I'm not sure about a naturalised citizen, but I do know that they require the birth certificate OR current passport for a born citizen of the states.

With the I864 you must add your birth certificate or passport or naturalization certificate (perhaps also). I know passport or birth certificate. But I think you had to enclose one of those with the I864. That's my impression.

This is a bit confusing since I864 doesn't indicate a BC or PP requirement. Only I130 requires sponsor's naturalization certificate. I am only concerned after your RFE..

Is your husbund the JOINT SPONSOR or someone else ? May be if it's someone else, they may require BC...Just my guess.

okay, my husband is primary sponsor, that has to be that way.

my joint sponsor is my husband's uncle. the rfe was for his birth certificate to prove that he is a USC.

ok, now it makes sense. thanks for your quick response. Appreciate it.

Also, you attached your husbands(sponsor's) BC or naturalization certificate only with I130 right ? To my knowledge, no other forms requires sponsor's BC or naturalization certificate ..

BTW we r yet to receive the noticess for all the forms. Just making sure we don't get a RFE...

Well, we only attached his passport with the I130, because he doesn't have his BC. But with the I130, we didn't get an RFE, so I'm hoping that was enough.

We received our notices within 2 weeks of filing, long before we got an RFE. If it's been a month since you filed, you sould contact the USCIS through infopass. That's what I'd have done.

If filing for spouse...
Submit marriage certificate to prove relationship.
To prove USC status, show either BC if born in US, US passport, or naturalization certificate.

You are good....

thanks ari4u. All these docs that u mentioned are attached with I130 and not I864. I got a bit tensed lwhen I looked at vaishali81's RFE few days ago. But I guess since she has Joint sponsor, she might require BC with I864....
