Alien registration number

Hello,
I am trying to fill out a waiver application for the 2 year rule on my J1 visa.
The application form asks for my "INS alien registration number"
Can anyone please tell me what that is? Is it the number on my white card (the I-94 form)?

if you ever had a work permit or applied for adjustment of status, you will have the A# on your work permit or notice of receipt for I-485.
