Guys,
Myself (H1-B) and my wife (H4) are planning to travel to India. She would be travelling in Nov and myself in Dec.

I am currently in my 7th year. I have a valid I-797 (valid till Feb'05) and have applied for my 8th year, though I have not received it yet. I would be going to the Embassy in New Delhi to get the Visa stamped. Currently my passport does NOT have a valid US Visa.

We are travelling by (Delta/Air France) combination, and were wondering whether we need the "Airport Transit Visa". Our stopover to change flights in Paris is one hour and twentyfive minutes. It sounds ridiculous to apply for Visa for such a short duration.

Has anyone travelled via Paris recently and were they asked for Airport Transit Visa. I am planning on calling the French Embassy in New York to find out the details, but reading through different posts it seems that different embassies give different information.

Please share your experiences and suggestions.

Thanks

A lot of countries now want u to get a visa. Call the French Embassy and find out from them. Airlines "might" know as well. Check Embassy's website as well

Did u find the detail from French Embassy

HI waitingforgc04

Can you please share the info. I am also going via delta/ Air fran via Paris. Our visa is also not stamped.

Thanks

Guys,
I drove down to NYC and got the "Airport Transit Visa" stamped.
For all those folks, who do NOT have a valid VISA stamped(just have I-797), just want you to know that you have to get this Visa stamped.

It took us less then half an hour to get the Visa stamped. They just take the fees and then look at your tickets and that's it.

But, friends please be sure that you do this, coz you don't want to run into a situation where they make you go back from the Airport for the lack of this stamp.

Good Luck..

How much U paid

Hi waitingforgc04

Whats is fees for one airport transist visa. What I heard you don't need airport transit visa if you are coming form USA and have valida I-797. Did France embassy asked you to do that ?? Please let me know

Thanks

Yes, you need an Airport Transit Visa, if you do NOT have a valid US Visa stamped on your passport. I too have a valid I-797 doc. but still needed the Airport Transit Visa, as my current stamped Visa on my passport is expired.

The fees for One Transit Visa is $42.68.

The Docs you need are:
- Schengen Visa form (downloadable from there website)
- Passport
- Copy of I-797 ( though they did'nt even check mine)
- Original Tickets and a Copy of the Tickets with Itenerary.

Hope this helps..
