Hi All,
Hope all is well. Question for a friend: After you do your medical examination, how long does it normally take for UCIS to send a letter for finger printing.

The person in quesion is on an H4 and filing for AOS

Thanks

We are in the well hope you are in the well too. :) Medical Examination usually has nothing whatsoever to do with finger printing.

Usually FP is processed by contractors and they are pretty swift since they get their money based upon performance. Expect FP soon after AOS application, unless INS holds back on FP's due to current backlogs and FP expiration dates.

140_takes_4ever,
I'm well under way to being well :). Thanks for the response.
"Expect FP soon after AOS application" : Under normal circumstances How soon after do you think?

Thanks Agina

Again there are no exact boundaries, but to give you an example, I applied for AOS on September 26th 2002, received FP notice within 6 weeks and scheduled FP on November 14th.

Having said that, I know people who applied for AOS in June 2002, and hadn't received FP notice till March 2003. So its your call. FP is the last thing I would worry about. Take it easy and ask your friend to stop worrying about it. When it will come, it will come, there are hundred other things you need to be worried about in the AOS process and FP is definitely not on that list!

If INS requires your FP results and doesn't have it, they will issue one and send it to your friend.

CSC Changed the Timing of Fingerprint Appointments for Pending I-485 Applications

The California Service Center has changed the timing of fingerprint appointments for pending I-485 applications. They will now schedule print appointments approximately 9 months after the I-485 is filed. The CSC has instituted this change to avoid having the prints expire by the time the case is adjudicated.
