Hi from Lake Havasu City, AZ! I was approved for citizenship today (interview-yey!) and waiting for the letter of oath ceremony date starts.

My problem is: I forgot to have a copy of the receipt number from the interview letter. IO took the letter and everything happened so fast I forgot to ask him the number or a copy. How do I get it back? If I can't, is it worth asking them for the copy while waiting for oath date notice to arrive?

USCIS.com does not really update the "check your status/case" page on time.

Also, after all the hoopla of securing documents for the interview (tax infos, utility bill, etc.), IO never asked me for them. Is there anybody like that here? All I see here are time lines, questions asked but nobody mentions if they were asked for those documents. What if IO forgot to ask for them and I wasn't responsible enough to offer them to him? Will they delay my oath taking schedule?

Any of the other documents USCIS sent you (initial receipt, FP notice, etc) regarding the N-400 should have the //SYSIN DD * number (let's see how many people got it)

I forgot to make a copy as well (considering I have a pretty nice multifunction office machine next to me) and realized it only after the interview...

I had the unofficial list of documents to bring as well, was not asked for anything. For 5 year type N-400's it's about right.

Back when I had my interview, I collected all the documents listed in the "What documents to bring to the interview" thread. The IO only asked for my GC and driver license. I offered him my taxes and selective service status letter, of which he only accepted the SS status letter.

The point of bringing all the extraneous documents is to avoid a possible RFE at the interview, thus delaying your application. There's just no way of knowing what the IO may ask for.
