Hi Friends,
After applying for I-485 they called for FP and once that is done what would be the next step and how long does it take to get GC and how many days before should we apply for AP(Renewal). when traveling abroad if we have finger print done in less than a year would it be ok or do we have to do it again before traveling.
Pl. help me out with some answers.
Thankyou
Friend.

How long does it take to get the GC? That's like asking who will win the lottery.

But if you provide more information about your situation ... what category are you applying in (employment or family, 1st/2nd/3rd preference etc.), what is your priority date, when did you file the I-140 and I-485, is your I-140 approved, we might be able to provide a ballpark lower and upper range of a timeframe.

Once you apply for FP, all you have left to do is wait. You can apply for AP and EAD, but those are optional unless you need to work or travel and don't have a visa such as H1/L1 that allows you to work/travel.

If they want your FP again, they'll send you a notice for another appointment, which will be at least 15 months after the original fingerprinting. But you may never have to give fingerprints again, as sometimes they have been refreshing the files from the original set of fingerprints.

Before traveling abroad, please make sure Advanced Parole is approved. otherwise that application will be deemed abandoned. What's the planned duration of your travel? I would not miss fingerprinting appointment.
