After I-485 approval, How long till you get Plastic Card

It changes

A few months ago, when you got the stamping done, they were saying 3-6 months to get the plastic card. When I went earlier this week, they were telling people 6-12 months. However, from what we\'re seeing on this board, it\'s about 2-3 months to get it.
 
Do you think that the passport stamp will speed things up

What is the advantage to getting my passport stamped anyway @!
 
Meaning

When you get your passport stamped, you only then have your green card. Till you get your passport stamped, you do not have your green card - you only have the petition approved. Your green card date starts from the date you get it stamped. Once you get it stamped, they get the ball rolling on getting the card produced.

The validity date on the card is the approval date not the stamping date. But you are right in that unless u stamp your passport which would also involve signing the I89 form the actual card processing does not start.
 
The CARD should be with you in 52-55 days in ideal conditions.

It happened to me, and I\'ve seen many others in the same manner. VSC is not missing this time window, it should be the same with you.
