After Fingerprinting not received Green Card

Hi,

I hope some can help me answer this query.

I finished my fingerprinting April 2002, and of course, my labor certification is completed and my I-140 is cleared. I got laid off August 2002. Now, I have received a letter from INS asking for proof of employment from current or prospective employer. I am supposed to reply before March 10th. In case, I do not get a job by March 10th, then what happens?

I have over 4 1/2 years left on my H-1B as I was on International assignments and my Employment Authorization is valid till August 2003.

If you cannot prove employment similar to the one mentioned in LC/140, then your 485 will be denied. Your EAD will be invalidated. If you cannot produce any paystub (h1 or ead based) INS can decide to deport you.
