After 180 days in I485 processing

Someone told me that after 180 days in I-485 (from RD) it is possible to get temporary green card. I never heard abou this option, so can anyone explain what \'benefits\' we can have after 180 days.
I know I can change a job (same profile), what papers I need to do that ?
Basically, what additional papers I can get after 180 days ?

It is EAD, Yes you can change but need to inform INS

The so-called temporary GC is EAD which lets you & spouse work. You still need to have the sponsoring job to get a GC. You can change job with similar job specs but it would be good to go thru a lawyer as the word \'similar\' is tricky to define.
