After 11 years 6 months and 18 days!

Dear fellow green card waiters:

This morning 3:15am PST I, my wife, and my son received the long waited card production order e-mails. 7:15am we received the "Notice mailed welcoming the new permanent resident." emails. This concludes our 11 years 6 months and 18 days' journey for green card. I am not sure what triggers these approvals. Two possibilities, one is that I just traveled back with H-1B stamped. The second is that I recently filed for a EAD card amend for an expiration date error. I tend to believe the second one triggers the approval. I wish you all get your green card soon.

I count for the whole period that my family decided to get GC. It was a painful 11 years. 3 times LC attempts. 2 times I-140 attempts. Holding H-1B for 9 years. Survived 4 rounds of layoffs after 911. Many worries and anxieties. I guess everybody waiting for GC got penalized at certain stage. I agree my I-485 waiting time was short compared to others. But whole process was very painful. Thanks for the congratulations.
