High Case #
If it helps clarify anything...here is my scenario.
My case # is 2008AF00044###, and from my research, this number will become current in Aug-Sept 2008.
I sent my response to the first NL today (via e-mail), after I spoke with several customer service people (yes, it helps to call a few times to make sure that no-one is feeding you a bunch of BS), and they told me that e-mail is the fastest, and then send pictures by regular mail.
They also told me it takes 4-6 weeks to provide the second letter, so I should get a respose by July, just before my number is current.
I opted for CP given the high number.
From this process, I learnt that -:
1.) you dont have to respond "right away", but rather a few months before your number is current. So all those who sent back the DS-230 & DSP-122 in May 2007, and have high number, will just languish in frustration as to why they have not recieved the 2nd NL.
2.) Calling several times helps "test" the initial answer from KCC
3.) You can respond via e-mail, and it's even better, you actually get a response that KCC has recieved your application.
4.) By sending via email / fax, you bypass all those sacks of returned NL's to the very front of the line, BUT does not hasten a response on the 2nd NL, since this is sent just before your Case # is current.
I hope this helps the frustrated DV-2008 winners and the "excited & jumping for joy" DV-2009 winners with high numbers.
