WAITING FOR 2ND LETTER..:)

if you are from a country other than Nigeria, ethiopia and Egypt, ur number will probably be current in september.

I am from Sudan and waiting for the second letter , I wish for those with high numbers from all region to be current and thos who are current to have a successful interview .and also want to thank the great members of this forum
for there quick response and special thanks to Tazmania, Johnkent, LucyMO
Igmo whom there response is just a mouse click away

high case no. of 48xxx.

I am also having the same problem but from Cameroon with a high case no. of 48xxx. Well, everything rest in the hands of the Lord.
I wish you guys all the best. I know God will make a way when the seems no way. God's blessing

Our Number is AF501XX

How do these numbers work:

If 100,000 notification letters are sent and of these some do not reply, do not reply or go astray or are disqualifed, it would mean that our chance of being current is high if 50,000 visas are issued:confused:

Is this a logical assumption or is ones CN not a true reflection on where one is on the list:confused:

Hi everyone, number AF56XXX here (no Nigeria/Ethiopia/Egypt), I'm kind of worried as well that the numbers might not be current come September, any reason why they sent exceptionnally high numbers for 2008 ?

manfromafrica1,

we will never know how they do it. Everytime I call KCC, I get different answers. It makes me wonder if they dont have a standard rule. I have given up trying to figure out what is going on with KCC.

I have high CN. AF43XXX. I have already opted for USCIS processing. Do you think I have to opt for CP rather. Do I have a chance with USCIS processing?

High Case #

If it helps clarify anything...here is my scenario.

My case # is 2008AF00044###, and from my research, this number will become current in Aug-Sept 2008.

I sent my response to the first NL today (via e-mail), after I spoke with several customer service people (yes, it helps to call a few times to make sure that no-one is feeding you a bunch of BS), and they told me that e-mail is the fastest, and then send pictures by regular mail.

They also told me it takes 4-6 weeks to provide the second letter, so I should get a respose by July, just before my number is current.

I opted for CP given the high number.

From this process, I learnt that -:

1.) you dont have to respond "right away", but rather a few months before your number is current. So all those who sent back the DS-230 & DSP-122 in May 2007, and have high number, will just languish in frustration as to why they have not recieved the 2nd NL.

2.) Calling several times helps "test" the initial answer from KCC

3.) You can respond via e-mail, and it's even better, you actually get a response that KCC has recieved your application.

4.) By sending via email / fax, you bypass all those sacks of returned NL's to the very front of the line, BUT does not hasten a response on the 2nd NL, since this is sent just before your Case # is current.

I hope this helps the frustrated DV-2008 winners and the "excited & jumping for joy" DV-2009 winners with high numbers.

Hope For All....

Well my people, according to my reseach, i believe and know that we should all hope for the best since by comparisms and discrepancies between DV 2008 and the previous years (ie dv2007 and the others ), it all prove that by all means, all Case Numbers ( especially Africa ) will be CURRENT by AUGUST & SEPTEMBER. So we should all try as much as possible to update all our documents........PLEASE DON'T DOUBT GOD BECAUSE I FEEL IT AMEN !!!!:):D:cool:
