I am an american citizen married to a canadian citizen we have a 5 month old daughter and he is planning on becoming a permanant resident of the united states....

My concern is, is that i am a stay at home mom who is staying in the united states with my disabled father, so obviously he receives a disability check from the goverment every month, my husband is the soul provider for my daughter and I, Unfortuniatly i have no income other than what my husband provides from canada and my disabled father does not receive enough to qualify for a joint sponsor.....Any one have any suggestions?

No assests only married for 2 weeks now. :(

So basically without having any one to co sign with us we would automatically be turned down correct?

There are a couple of ways you can satisfy this requirement:

  • Show assets
  • have someone - USC or LPR whose income is above 125% poverty level

If you file ad not show proof of support, you will receive an RFE and this will only delay the process.

Am i correct with this the poverty level for four people living in a household would be $20,000 x 125% would be= $25000

Also any one know if it would matter that my father would be a joint sponsor living off disabilty, my step mother is currently unemployed and has recently been bouncing from job to job, would they look at that in a negative way?

You Can Use Your Husbands Income To Qualify As Well As Assets--anyone Recieveing Social Security Cannot Be A Sponsor. You Can Use Money In Bank Accounts As Well--do You Know Of Anyone Who Can Give You Enough Money To Put In Your Account .the Income Qualifications Are Changed All The Time. You Can Also Have A Joint Sponsor--friend,relative Who Works.good Luck
