Affidavit of support outside USA?

Hello:

I am from Peru. My wife is from Poland and she won the lottery visa.We both live in Peru for almost 10 years. We have our interview in the american embassy in June. My question is:
Can my brother who lives in Sweden be our affidavit of support? Can he go with the I-134 form to a US consular office and became our affidavit of support?

Jose,
No, he cannot sign for the affidavit of support. ONLY US. Citizens, or US. Permanent Residents can sign the affidavit of support. Documentation to prove his/her status will be requested.

No and the reason is that if you become a liability the US government can't or will have a hard time going after your family member who lives abroad and has no assets over here.
