Affidavit from SSS.GOV, is it needed?

Hi all,
Came to know through a friend that we need to get an affidavit from Special service system (SSS.GOV) before we apply for citizenship, otherwise application will be returned back. Reason is as most of us who got GC after H1, were of age more than 26 by that time and so we never required to register with SSS.GOV so they do not have the record, it is obvious that we were not required and INS should make out itself, but they do not and just return back the app and make us get the Affidavite instead. Have any of you came across this?

You are confused. US CIS will not return your application back, but you might have to provide a letter from the Selective Services Administration that you did not need to register. You will be notified if they need this information for your interview, but it is a good idea to get it anyway.
