Guys,
I have a question regarding affidavit for birth certificate. Who should notarize it ? Is it any notary or it has to be notarized by magistrate ?
Will appreciate your input.
Thanks
We recently got our Affidavit for birth certificate made and our lawyer advised us to get it notarized by a Magistrate. May be that is a safe bet to save the future RFEs.
There are two scenarios that require an affidavit :
2) Affidavit in place of a birth certificate.
The birth was never registered and the municipal body issues a "no record found" letter. In such a situation, two separate affidavits are required and they need to be notarized by a magistrate in a court of law.
Hope this helps .....
Cheers !
Can you let us know from where you got this info? Especially, if you have info from USCIS website?
AFAIK, notarized means from any notary - no requirement exists to get notarized by magistrate.
