My organization has a brand new position whose job descripition is totally different from the position I am in and I wanted to use that position to pursue my Green Card.
Then is it advisable to advertise for the brand new position and wait for the advertisement process to complete and then I move into that new position OR can I move into the new position as a promotion, and then we advertise for the new position that I am in.
Are there any pros or cons to going one route over the other, or can it be done either ways.
