Advise needed for N-400 submission

Friends,

I became a permanent resident on 10/1/2004, which means my 90 days before completing 5 years will be on 7/4/2009.

I was hoping to send my N-400 around that time, but then we planned for a 23 day vacation from 6/26/2009 to 7/19/2009.

Now what is the best option for me?

I come back and send my N-400 on 7/19/2009 which means I'll be losing about 15 days.

Or I keep the package ready before I leave and tell a friend to mail the package for me around 7/4/2009.

If this is possible then what date do I write on the N-400 where I have to sign and put the date? If I put 6/26/09 (the day I'm leaving) won't it be less than 90 days and objectionable? Do I mention anything about the current trip in the form where I have to mention the trips information? I guess not if I can use the 6/26/09 date??

Any advise will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Either send the package after your return from trip, or pre date and sign the application for 7/4/2009 and have a someone send it off after that day while you are gone on trip.

15 days is really not a long time when you look at the big picture.

Thanks Bobsmyth for your reply.

The problem with dating it 7/4/09 is that, what should I write in the section about the current trip where I have to give Trips info. Date you left the United States & Date you returned to the United States. Total days out of the United States.

Since the date 7/4/09 is after the date I left the country, I can't possibly not mention about it on the form! What do I do?

Thanks

Is there a post office where you spend yorui vacation? Send you application yourself from your vacation area. I don't think USCIS has a rule the package must be mailed from neighborhood of your home (otherwise many applications
sent via lawyers who can be located thousands mile away would be invalid)

Thanks wbh

I am going on vacation to India. From wherever I mail it the question still remains about what should I mention on the form about this trip.

Then,To make life simple, come back first an dthen apply with the theoretical risk of 15 days delay may make a denial/approval difference if some thing unsusually happens

You'll update the trip section at interview. It's no issue predating your application as long as you don't send it before the predate.
