advices from lawyer and INS

we were just advised by company lawyer (and INS indirectly) that we should maintain legal status beyond that of AOS pending as long as possible, because of the uncertainties in I485 processing.

Unfortunately I used up all H1-B time and have to use AOS status plus EAD to work. I will have to file 3rd EAD soon.

It looks like that certain time range of I-485 processing is indefinitely postponed at TSC for unknown reasons.

Can you explain why? I am in my 7th. year of L1 status and I cannot renew my L1 again. What are the uncertainties?

You mean a person using EAD and AP is not in legal status?.

In case AOS would be rejected eventually, applicants lose legal status instantly and would not have enough time to switch into other catagoroies, such as H1-B again.
