I am currently on H1 till 6\25\06 and my residency ends on 6/30/06. should i extend my H1 for 5days or should I just file for a july 1st start day as I already have a job as an attending.
 
Take a week of leave from your residency, have your employer for the attending job start the visa on the 25th.
 
It depends what specialty yo are in. If IM then by the end of the 2nd yr you are eligible for a license and a job. Job could be primary care doc.
 
Just take a week off, whether you are board eligible or not doesn't matter. Your residency that way ends on 6/25, simply because after 6/25 you cannot be legally employed by your residency hospital.
All board eligibility criteria have allowances for time taken off for pregnancy, vacation etc.
