Advice needed. Should I tell my company to NOT sponsor me the green card?

Got approved for TN (Mexican ) and the US company said they will sponsor me the greencard. Of course that sounds like a great thing.

If I was on H1B I would not doubt at all, however because it would be TN->GC, I have been reading in this forum, there is a risk that if something is denied during the green card process, then I would be never again eligible to work in the US and would have to leave the country.

Should I tell my company that "THANK YOU, BUT DON'T SPONSOR ME THE GC " ?

there are DOZENS of active members on this forum that have gone TN to GC route. But if you are not wanting GC, then that is your right. Your sponsor however may view this as a reason not to make any long- or medium-term plans with you.

After all, the GC is the way a sponsor gets a PERMANENT employee, rather than a temp like you a re now.

And a filed GC does not forever deny you a US job.

You could always ask them -- after they begin the GC process -- to get you an H1-B (which the vast majority of firms feel more comfortable with anyways). Then both processes will advance until one or both succeed.
