Hi all:

I have landed in August 2000 and completed the requirement for citizenship in August 2003. Also, in August 2003, I got my US Green Card. Now I am applying for my canadian citizenship? I have been living in canada all these years and paying my taxes etc on US Income. Would my US green card create any problem for Canadian Citizenship? I got my green card exactly after 1 week of completing my residency requirement for Canadian Citizenship. Also, there is a question on the Citizenship form asking me if I had obtained a permanent resident of any other country while I was permanent resident in Canada. I have answered that question as yes. Would this delay my citizenship in any way?

Thanks
Rajju

NO! I don't foresee any problems. You might be interviewed by the judge. All you wil lhave to do is to prove ties to Canada (which you have already done, paying taxes, maintaining bank accounts, and you have stated, that you have lived in Canada).

Good Luck!!

What effect would changing citizenship have on a green card which is already processed or being processed

Thanks

your nationality has no effect on your GC processing.
The one country that matters is one of your birth, which i guess isn't changing anymore :)
