Ok, after reading some posts here I'm familiarised with AP/EAD etc. My specific questions are below: These may seem naive but pls. bear with me.
1) My current H1 expires on January 6th 2006 and I'm about to file concurrently for 140 + 485. Not filing for AP since my H1 is still valid. I'm travelling in Dec. when I come back, I can still re-enter on my H1 right although my 485 has been filed and pending ?
2) I'm also applying for EAD at the same time as my 485. What happens once the EAD card arrives ? The fact that its in my hands does it mean that I automatically work on EAD and not H1 ? Or is there some mechanism to "activate" the EAD ? Also, if I work on EAD, then I believe I'm no longer on H1 and hence have to get AP if I wish to travel ?
3) Can I continue to work on my H1 and not activate my EAD until my H1 expires ?
