I am going to apply for I-485 in next few days. Do I have to apply for AP or its worth while to apply now. I may not travel outside USA six months from now on. What is validity of AP, I mean for how much months it remains valid. In how much time we can get it after applying. Can we apply for AP on our own if we do not hire an attorney for it. Please answer and thanks in advance.

-if you have valid H1 visa stamp more than year then no need, but many apply AP and EAD
I may not travel outside USA six months from now on.
