My wife got her AP a couple of weeks ago and we already have purchased tickets to travel out of the country at the end of October to her home country. I do not feel safe for her traveling by hereslef with AP. Here is the whole story. She was on B2 visa which expired on April 28, 2006. Six weeks before expiration, she apllied to change her status to F1. Then we got married in May and applied for everything on the first week of June. The question I have is whether she is considered someone who overstayed. As far as I understand, since she already had a pending USCIS case, her original visa expiration should not be considered as overstay. Anyone has any explanation on the overstay?? Should she travel on AP under these circumstances? Is there anything to worry about? Is it okay for her to return by herself?

if she filed COS before B visa expiration, and her F1 was not rejected before her AOS is filed, no overstay happened.
