I am a canadian married to usc.I had my interview 4/25.Everythingwent fine. The officer said only my namecheck is pending.I got an advance parole permit so i could travel. However since i was a 6 year overstay will i be denied re-entry.My lawyer is not clear on this or rather a bit clueless maybe.

Your lawyer sounds incompetent. Any overstay exceeding 180 days will trigger a 3 year ban. If the overstay exceeds 365 days, it will trigger a 10 year ban. To make things slightly confusing for you is the fact that you entered as a Canadian citizen, so very likely no I-94 was ever issued to you. The absense of an I-94 will make it difficult however to prove you overstayed. If I was in your shoes, I would not leave the US until I get my GC.

I was never issued an I94.However in my application it is stated that i have been here 6yrs.And that is what i told the officer at the interview.

I dont know why my lawyer would allow me to get a travel permit if i was an overstay? It cost me 175$ and it seems like it may have been a waste.

Well if you stated that fact in writing, then do not leave the US until you get your GC. Sorry about your $175 loss.
