Hi guys,
I have approved I-140 under advanced degree professional/NIW category. At the time of applying for I-485 form, do I need to show employment in the advanced degree category? I mean can I do the job where bachelors degree is required? Or it should be particularly written in the job requirements that "Atleast masters degree required".

Thanks

i think you only need to be working in related field....similar to what you claimed national interest waiver.....

following are basic things you need for NIW
The foreign national’s work is in an area of substantial intrinsic merit;
The proposed benefit of the foreign national’s work is national in scope; and
The foreign national will serve the national interest to a substantially greater degree than would an available U.S. worker having the same minimum qualifications........You have I-140 approved....which means you already satisfy the requirements. ....while I485 is pending ...BCIS can send you EVL...employment verification letter....(yes they do send now a days for even NIW cases)....they want to know whether you are still working in related research...satisfying all three criteria..........The foreign national will serve the national interest to a substantially greater degree than would an available U.S. worker having the same minimum qualifications...so the answer is YES you may!!!

Hi guys,
hey eb1doc, thanks for reply.Still some doubts.
Is it necessary that I will be doing research? Will not it be sufficient that I am working as an engineer in the same field?
employment verification letter is about stating my duties and responsibilities, title of position as well as salary and duration of employment. Isn't it? If it is so if my employer just mentions the above facts assuimg I am working in the same field, would it be sufficient even if I am working as an engineer and not as researcher?
In other words, even if my title says engineer, somehow I managed to mention the same duties as I-140, it would be sufficient. Right?

hey allaboutgc,
Mind your thinking and stop accusing people.If you don't have any input to give just stop bothering.
