Advance Parole

Like I posted earlier about Advance Parole, I got my EAD back in Feb'02. Didn't apply for AP. My wife need to plan a trip to India soon, I don't have an emergency reason, but still went ahead to the local INS office. My attorney told me its taking 30-45 days to get the AP(Attorney wants to charge another $325, thats the other reason I went to the local INS office). The immigration officer also told the same thing, but he took the application and said you will receive the AP in the mail (after some body reviewing the application). Didn't say if he is going to send it to VSC or going to process right in the local INS office.
I was wondering if the local INS office is going to issue my AP or are they going to send our application to VSC and they will issue AP.

Initially I thought of mailing the applications to VSC, later I thought why not try at our local INS (of course got to go through the hassle of standing in the line for hrs, but the officers were nice).

Thanks Jaxen for your suggestions in my previous post about AP, they were of great help.

Please suggest.

Thank you Guys

I had a similar experience recently. I didnt want to pay big bucks to my lawyer and i did it myself. I applied by post to the Local INS office in LA and they returned the application to me asking me to apply in person.
I did so and they asked to me to come back after 30 days, if I didnt receive my AP by then.

When I went back , they gave my application back to me saying that I need to apply at the CSC not in Local INS as my AOS application is at CSC.

upon further investigation, I found on the INS website that for all the employer based GCs , AP should be applied at SCs Not at local INS.

Given the way INS functions there might some exceptions.

Good luck

I am about to apply for my AP..

Could u please tell me the documents that are required other than...

I-131
2 photos
$110
Copy of EAD...

Also, do I have to provide a letter stating the reason for applying for the AP?

Thanks

dont need a EAD to apply for AP.
You need to attach your 485 receipt notice and I-94/Visa.

You dont need a reason to apply for a AP unless you want to expedite it.

While applying for AP what to do about Part 7

While applying for AP what to do about Part 7, where it asks you to explain in a seperate sheet of paper as how you are qualifed for AP and for what reason you need AP.

I am also filing for AP myself rather than paying big bucks to the lawyer.
Can any body tell me what are some valid reasons that we can wirte in part 7 of the AP application

Thanks in advance
