Hi -

My husband and I received our Advance Parole. How does this work? we received 2 advance parole documents each.
When we leave the country, do we need to take both papers with us? Does the immigration officer keep one? and if so, does this mean that with this Advance Parole document we can only leave the US once?

Also - I am sponsoring my husband's greencard. Can he trvale abroad without me?

Thank you very much for your help.

X.

--------take all the AP with you, you dont have to show AP when you depart US you show AP when you take filight for US and then show AP when enter US
Does the immigration officer keep one?
--one you enter US at POE show Passport and AP. you have to show AP at airport Before taking a flight to US
and if so, does this mean that with this Advance Parole document we can only leave the US once?
------------ AP in not to leave the US it is to ENTER US.
Also - I am sponsoring my husband's greencard.
Can he trvale abroad without me?

You may need transit visa stamp check with your Airline. you did not post your citizenship or the country you are going to visit

Thanks. Yes I know about the transit visa. I would not need but my husband, who is Indian, needs one to fo to Europe.

So when we/he come back to the US, we should passport and AP and we get to keep it right? Someone had told me that the immigration officer was going to keep one copy.

My Case: At POE the officer kept the original AP which he stamped. I asked him for the copy of that AP which he stamped and he provided me a copy.

Also like ginnu says, you need to show the AP before you board the flight to US.

this is weird....i thought that they keep stamping on the same ap document for multiple travels and it stays with us???

OOO I am just asking... I have never done traveled with my AP. So I am wondering how it works.

So I can just take one of the AP document I received? Not the 2?

And they will keep stamping my paper and give it back to me?

Thank you so much for answering my questions...

if there is "VALID FOR MULTIPLE APPLICATIONS FOR PAROLE INTO THE UNITED STATES" written on the AP, then you can use it for multiple travels. In that case immigration officer will stamp AP and will give it back to you
If your AP is valid only for one trip, then officer will not give it back to you.

That's exactly correct. My AP is valid for multiple trips.
Officer at POE returned my orginal AP with stamp and i never had to use the second copy, i can still use the same stamped copy again n no of times within the validity period of AP.

AP receipt notice not received

I applied for AP for myself and my wife together electronically.
I received an receipt notice for myself in 2 weeks. It has been around 4 weeks and I have not recieved a notice for my wife.
Is there any way that I can find out whether the receipt notice is send or not?
where can i enquire about this with USCIS.

Thanks

Questions about AP

When did you apply for AP? How long did it take to have AP sent to you?
