Hi Folks,

I had applied for AP last year and it was valid till 8/02. I used that to re-enter this country in 07/02. At the port of Entry (Chicago) I was stamped on the AP and I-94 with validity till 07/03.

What is the date till which the AP is valid 08/02 which was originally on the AP or 07/03 which is now stamped on the AP/I-94.

Appreciate your response.

Thanks

Hi,
I am going to using AP back to China soon, is there any problem
when you reenter U.S.at the port of Entry (Chicago)? did they ask you questions? what is your visa status?
Thanks in advance.

I had precisely the same question.

I have used the AP too and I was under the impression that the AP is valid upto the extended date stamped on the AP (marked as "Paroled Upto").

However, my lawyer told me otherwise. He said that AP is valid only until the original date of expiry and should be renewed by that date (i.e. the validity is not extended by using the AP and getting it stamped with a fresh "Paroled Upto" date).

Any one w/ more knowledge, who has used AP multiple times and beyond the date of original expiration and still within the extended (Paroled upto) date. Please post.

Thanks for the response. This was similar to what I heard but not from a lawer. So I guess one needs to apply for a new one if the original date has expired.

I am currently on AOS using an EAD. I did not have any difficulty getting back in. Just had to show that I was away for a short duration and had company letter stating that I was away on vacation and the salary and employment details.

Good luck to both of you.
