Advance Parole from a USCIS office - Need help

Hi,

Anyone requested for a Advance Parole (AP) document from a USCIS office (San Jose in particular). What kind of cases do they consider and what are the documents I should carry with me. I have an urgency to travel to India next month since my mother will be undergoing eye surgery. I haven't received my AP yet and it's been more than 90 days since I filed. My H1 visa has also expired.

Please share your experiences.

Normally they issue same day AP in emergency situation. You can try with some proof of her sheduled surgery (like a fax copy of surgery schedule in hospital or doctor's recommendation for surgery). There is nothing to loose for trying that, but lots depend on the officer who is going to decide whether to issue AP or not.
