Advance parole extension question

Hi All,

My advance parole is expiring on Feb 14, 2001. My lawyer is going to send application for extension either this week or by 2nd January. Do you know how long it takes to receive
advance parole in hand? I\'m planning to go to India on January 26th 2001. Would I receive it before I leave? If not can I go to local INS office to get AP in hand?

Well I applied for the AP in late Nov 2000 and got the approval in one week. So I think it is pretty fast for AP renewal. However, his being the holiday season, I would not count on the INS (or anybody else for that matter) to be fast in processing applications. But you can definitly give this a try.
