I also applied for AP and my RD was 11/10/03.. received RFE in June(for the same reason) and INS received the response on 06/28/04 but no word of approval.

What date your RFE has been received by INS?

RFE was received Jun 23rd was PP and ID

Had sent an inquiry I dont know if that helped or not.

My frined 1 st PA is also pending from 11-03 I guess call the toll free no and speak to Tier 2 officer but their disclaimer states wait for 6 months or less !

Called the toll free number but the rep said I have to wait 60 days after they received the RFE before I can initiate a inquiry.
