Advance Parole and Travel after Stamp???

if i have advance parole papers to travel outside of the US (valid till 2004), but have my green card interview in the interim period. Is it legal for me to leave the country while I am awaiting the physical green card or am i expected to wait for it to arrive?
would love to get an answer from someone who knows. thanks

i will be having my interview 3 days prior to leaving. my understanding is that your passport is stamped at the time - if it is not i am hoping i can still travel on AP.

the saga continues

i am not sure whether my i-485 has been accepted. i got my advance parole papers a month ago while my papers were in process. i have now been called for an interview on thursday - it indicated that the interview would be taped and my sponsor needs to be present as well. i am presuming that this might be the final interview.. in that case does that I-551 get stamped at the time you are there? or do i need to wait out the months before the physical green card arrives.. just have an awfully expensive ticket home. so was a bit concerned. thanks for your time and advice.
