Hello,

We recently applied for my spouse advance parole which was denied because her I-485 is "adminstrative close". My green card was approved about 8 months ago.

Few months ago, INS requested police clearance certificates from last 5 years where she stayed as her second round of fingerprint could not be processed by FBI. We submitted all the docs within the deadline and INS acknowldged that they recieved it and it ia taking 360 -540 days to process.

Please let me know if anyone knows about "Administrive close" meaning for I-485. What I shoud do now?

Thanks
Paguy

pagay: How did you get the information that case was I "administratively closed"? We were able to get it by visiting local USCIS office only. Unfortunately there was no explanation why.

You can try:
1. Visit local USCIS office and ask why the case was closed
2. File Congressional inquiry about I-485 case
3. File Motion-to-Reconsider (MTR) for Advanced Parole and for I-485

Good immigation attorney is a plus.

Today my wife received Notice of Approval for I-485 (request for appointment) and response from Senator Bill Nelson with copy of the correspondence from USCIS.

No updates about I-485 case: no reopen notices, no RFE, no updates of LUD

3 weeks ago email notification was received that RFE for I-765 was sent: it was not received; I called USCIS 1 week ago asking to resend.

Today my wife has received plastic.

I would like to thank all of you guy on this forum for this forum - it provided a lot of useful information.

I wish all of you happiness in new 2006 year and let all your GC dreams come true! :)
