Adjustment Of Status

My mother (a green card holder), filed a petition on my behalf in May of 1999. This petition was later approved in 2002. I am currently in the US on H-1B visa. Am I eligible to apply for "Adjustment of Status"?
 
You have to check if your priority date is current - you must be on F2B - so see the vise Bulletin to check if the priority date (should be May 1999) is current for your country.
 
Thanks for your reply geeti. According to the visa bulletin, the date for visa number availability (India) is 08JUN96. Does this mean that I must wait until visa numbers are available for my priority date (May 99)?

yes. when your priority date is current, May 1999, they will contact you and your lawyer to prepare for AOS. only when your priority date is current and a visa # is assigned to you can you file for the AOS. best of luck.
