Adjustment of Status question

I will be getting my US citizenship soon and My wife just entered the USA on a B Visa. Can she or I apply for a change of status from B visa to a green card, after I get my citizenship? Does she have to go back to her home country to get her permenent visa? What forms do I have to fill out? Please Help.
 
Both avenues are available. Was this AOS pre-planned or a spur of the moment decision?

I always thought that she will have to go back. I will be getting my citizenship somewhere in October. Her stay is till December. Do I have to do anything now? The procedure? Any help would be appreciated.
 
You file a combo of I-485 and I-130. Read up the "Family Based Green Cards" sub-forum for more information.
No, she will not be asked to go back even if the AOS interview takes place beyond her I-94 expiry.
