Hey, My current address is in Delaware is with USCIS. I travel a lot on short term projects and want to use my friend's address in Pennsylvania for GC.

Is that allowed?

What sort of proof do I need to show for using that address. Utility bill, driver's license?

I do not know if allowed or not, but if you change your adress with the USCIS they do not need any utility bill or anything. You just change your adress either paper based or on line without any supporting prove. Actually by law you have to report this change within 10 days by which any one will have no bills, license or anything related to the new adress apart from contract lease.
The USCIS requires us to report our new address within 10 days because of security issues not to send us GC or documents. You MAY put your friends in trouble if you report their address (just opinion)

mmed, Thanks for the reply. Why would that put my friend in trouble. Can't you share an apartment or a house with a friend?

(My friend is a GC holder so yes, his address will be on their records)

I think but not 100% sure that when you change your address within 10 days with immigration, the latter will send your name and new address to local police office. This thinking come from the fact that if you did not do so, it is an immigration violation and the security issue is a concern now and what is the reason behind reporting your address even without any application pending with USCIS???.

The other point which you should take into consideration is the green card or any immigration document will not be delivered easily unless the post office is 100% sure that the person is actually in that address (the EAD of my wife returned just because the post office was not sure that she is living with me and I went to post office and confirmed her presence and called the USCIS to send the card back, long story).

If you change your adress frequently to more than 10 days you should (by law) report the change every time with the immigration.

All what I wrote are my personnal opinion not based on any experience waiting for others input.

My wife's EAD was returned by post office in Feb. 22. Actully we didn't move. I called USCIS twice. We have not received the EAD so far. How can we get the reurned EAD? mmed, what's your suggestion?
