Hi,

I have been a perm Resident for over 30 years.
Married in 1990 and Divorced around 2000. I have the paper for that.
From 1990 to 2000 I lived at the same address.
No Criminal record (ever).

After my divorce I was a little scattered on where I lived. the past 1 year I have been ok but between 2000 and 2004 I was a little scattered. My license had my moms address which I was at most of the time, however, I also had a place on the side for my mail, work, privacy, etc. On the app (n-400) I put down my moms address, on my tax returns I have the other address.
My taxes have all been paid and up to date.

Here is my questions:

1. How often do they ask for the tax returns? And what are they checking?
2. How do I handle it if they question it?
3. Can i get declined after all this time here?

This forum is great!! And you all are a big help!! I keep reading the threads over and over to build confidence.

They always ask if you correctly filed tax returns or owe any taxes, but it seems they usually don't ask for tax transcripts unless they find something suspicious elsewhere in your N-400 or with your verbal answers.

The key thing with this whole process is full disclosure. If you lie or misrepresent something and USCIS finds out, it may cost you a denial. That said, plenty of people have multiple addresses for various reasons, so that in itself is not a big deal.
