Address in Application / Change of Address

Hi Everyone,

I am preparing to apply for I485 and have concerns regarding the address I need to mention in my application.

My situation is my I140 was applied at TSC however got forwarded to VSC which approved it and I am currently in California.

Firstly I am not sure which Jurisdiction do I fall in. Secondly since I will move out of my current location to probable anywhere in US.

I am considering addresses of my friends in CA or TX or other location.

Can anyone of you suggest me what is the best course of action and if there is any impact of the address given other than my own.

Finally what is the procedure for change of address and what is the impact?
 
I guess advocate is the best person to tell you which jurisdiction that you belong to. When ever you go to your new address apply for your 485 from that address and if in case your address changes then file form ar11 to INS to update your address. Under new law of Zero tolerance policy (specially Vermount service center) it is better to update INS within 10 days after your move to new address.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports on July 10, 2002 that the INS brought an alien to the immigration court to enforce this provision in the immigration statute and the alien faces deportation now.

If you are staying in california u should use ur california address and u will have to apply to CSC using approval copies of 140 VSC or TXC where ever ur approval took place. CSC will get your file from VSC when ur case is processed.

Thanks for the response. I guess it will be CA then.

About the address what if I submit my friends or collegaues in CA who will stay much longer than me.
