Address concern in getting Plastic Card

I entered the US with immigrant seal stamped in the passport on 12/19/03.

But I am moving to a different state before the 1st of January.

Although I have mentioned my friend's address in DS 230 part 1
to receive the Plastic Card, I was confused when the guy at immigration said, I will be receiving my PC to the address in the Packet 4 (immigration VISA) in about 9 months. The address in the visa is my current address which, as i said is going to change.

Anybody faced this situation? What are your thoughts on this?

If you have a copy of the DS 230 Part I then refer to the
following two areas:

Box # 11 : This is where the cards would arrive. From what
you wrote it looks like you have mentioned your
friend's address here. Then there is no issue.

Box # 10: Probably you mentioned your own current address
here. Which is fine.

What you need to do now is once you change your address
you need to file Form AR 11 for yourself and for each of your
dependents.

They normally quote 9 months to 1 year for receipt of cards
but they arrive in about a months time.

Thanks for your response. That is what I have filled in #10 and #11 of the DS 230 PArt 1. Hoping that I will get the cards at my friends place as i have mentioned in the form.

But AR 11 is for all immigrants and non immigrant visa holders, right? It is the change of address we all have to provide. I am making sure that this form has nothing to do with the Plastic card I am expecting. Right?

Your Green Card issue process and the AR 11 should not cross
paths. Your GC issue is in the hands of the respective
service center, whereas the AR 11 goes to London,KY, which
is the central place for all of USA.

My next question is ......how important is receiving the welcome letters? Will i be getting the letters at my current address or at the place where i'm expecting the PCs..?
