Hi
My 485 details are as below
RD 11/27/01
ND 12/04/01
1st FP 05/30/2002
RFE replied 05/2003
2nd FP scheduled 01/26/2004

I am hoping that after FP , within few weeks I should get approval i.e Feb-2004.
From last Sep-2003 , I am working on EAD with consulting companies.
All the time I was on same address , so I recd my FP notice without any address issues.

Right now, I am getting apportunity (Contract to Perm) staring from Feb-2003.
As my approval is so close, shall I keep my current apt until I get approval ?? Or file AR-11 for change of address.

There are 2 main concern regarding 2nd option
1) Will change of address, cause more delay in my approval??
( My new job will be in NJ and current location is in OH)
2) Will change of address, takes place in INS database immediately, so that I can get approval notice on new address

Any suggestion, experiences , please share. This is very critical point, I don't want to loose good job as well as delay my 485 approval( as its already long delayed)

Thank you

Good luck with your process. You can call 800 number and speak with an IIO and they will change it right there for you on the system. I sent in the request before and never was changed until I called them. I don't think it will delay the process for you.

Change of Address

There are 2 school of thoughts to this issue.

1) Dont inform the INS about change of JOB or AC21 and AR11, but make provisions to have another friend to live in your existing apartment in NJ, if any RFE comes he can look into it and inform you accordingly.

A copy of the RFE normally goes to your lawyer and other to your house. If an RFE is issued, inform your lawyer to file AC21 and AR11 and that should take care of the issue.

2) The other thought process is there are instances where people have been sent RFE with regards to the different address on the pay-stubs and have been re-sent RFE with regards to the change of address difference.

The ratio of such instances happening is like 30% of the total process figures.
