Gurus;

I need advice on address change issue. Please advise! I am ready to file 485 this week. I am moving to a new apartment on April 1 in same city (I have signed a new lease and I know the address).

1. Should I send in my 485 packet with old address and then send in a change of address note to INS after April 1? Would this delay my process?

2. Can I send in my 485/131/765 applications with new address (and the G325A with upto current address) around March 15th. The current resident of apartment where I will be moving is vacating on March 15. So any mail I recieve at that address after March 20 should be okay.

Which is the better option for me?

Thanks!!
Zack

Zack, per my knowledge, using new address is a better option!

Sometimes, change of address might trigger transfer of case to local office. The local offices take longer to process 485. It is best if you not change your address after you filed for 485. The reason being any address change can be perceived as a change of employer. So, I believe the choice is simple. Go with the new address. The receipts for 485, EAD, AP go to your attorney\'s office. Also, the EAD, AP and the FP notice, you will get your copies at your address. But, that can easily take a month by then you will be residing in your new apartment. Good luck.

how about p.o. box

How do you think about renting a p.o. box at a local post office? I think INS will send all your receipt or approval notice to your mailbox.
