Address Change may trigger RFE issuing

Reason for this theory:

If you have an address change while I485 is pending,
it is more likely (I mean likely, not absolutly) you
have changed your job ( because most Americans move only
when they have a job change as they have a house), so
it is more likely the RFE is issued for Employment related
information.

And I don\'t think INS will issue RFE just for address change.

Comments?

To test this theory, for those who got RFE (just for Employment
related issue), please post whether you changed your address
or not after filing your I485.

I think you have a point here. I don\'t know how far this theory will hold good but is true for me. I recieved RFE for recent employment letter and had changed my address while my 485 was pending. Hope this wait will end soon.

of course those who changed address and got approved without
RFE can argue against this theory.

IS there any these people here?

My theory seems still hold.

After going over the old posts, I found:

If you changed address after filing I485, prepare for Employment realted RFE, you have a high possibility to get one.

If you are close to be approved, don\'t move.

If you had an address change and got approved without RFE,
Please post as I haven\'t seen one.

My ND is Oct 2000, and I have changed my address since my 485. Of course, there\'s still lot of time for me to see if I receive RFE. However, my LC says in the Address while in US column: Various addresses throughout United States. I work for a consulting company, and that\'s how they specify addresses in Labor Certification. Only time will tell if INS still considers this as a job change.

I didn\'t move but INS had my address slightly wrong, which I corrected,so my info shows up as address change. I got an RFE.

I changed my address slightly ( just added C/O xxx ) for EAD only.
This means there are chances that I may get RFE soon. Is this true?

I changed my address and I did receive my RFE.
Remember, this theory only holds for PD with late \'98, \'99, etc.

I believe this theory does not hold for people with PD
as \'96 or \'97. INS feels sorry for people who are already delayed.

I believe this theory hold some truth. My company transferred me just before my filing I-485. And I having been living in the different state from 1-140 stage. My family did our medical exam in the previous state that does not fall in Northeast region. VSC did not even recognize the INS approved doctors over there and requested us to redo all medical exams. They stated that our medical exam was not done by an INS approved physician. In fact, it is. That doctor is still on the list of that region. Since the record of medical exam only valid for one year officially, VSC can ask us to redo it all over anyway if we argue with them, our lawyer suggests that we should just do it again. We think those troubles all started from moving.

I believe that it is better to find a doctor approved by the INS district office that has juridication over your current residense. you can get a list from them by calling them or any ASCs near you.
I remember that when I prepared my I-485 over a year ago, I called INS formland (a 800 number) for forms. A week later, my local INS district office sent me a package with all required forms and a list of approved doctors by them. My friend got the same package by going to a INS ASC.
