address change before 6 months

the RD for my 485 is Mar. 2002, now i need to move from New York to Maryland (still keep the same job). do i need to inform INS about my address changing? if i want to leave INS another address in New York(such as the address of my friend or my lab), will INS think it\'s a violation? what should i deal with my driving licence? thanks for answer.
 
Change address

I advice you the change the address to whichever new place you move to. Never make the mistake of giving some other address as your address, you may get into serious trouble if INS issues an RFE such as
(i) Show proof that you are living in the address on your i-485 file
or
(ii) Show reasons for moving

It is not unlawful to move from state to state after applying i-485. Nothing to worry.It is crime not to inform INS of your address change.

taurus02 is correct

It is always better to change the address with INS
while AOS since one of my friend got an interview call (family
based) and the letter asked for rent receipts / proof of
residence.
