address change b4 getting the card?

I just got the welcome email but realized that i forgot to update my address with USCIS. I went ahead to file AR-11 immediately. Here are the quesitons:

1. will AR-11 take effect in time?
2. if not, will my case get delayed?
3. if there anything I can do to prevent the card from being returned? (currently mails from my old addressed have been forwarded by the post office)

Hi lisaz,

I`m in the similar situation like yours. My inital address change did not take place and the Welcome notice went to my old address.

Upon receiving it I called up USCIS and ensured they have the right address.

Now its 1 month since I received the Welcome notice and after that nothing has happend.

Can you please let me know was there any progress after the Welcome notice in your case

In our case we file 485 in June 2007 and then changed the apartment in July 2007 and filed the AR-11 too. No one expect that they approved our case in Aug 2007 (Yes in just 61 days) even before change our address of 485. So our green card sent to our old address.

Luckly "Return Request" was not written on the envolop so post office farward the mail to our new address.

The sent approval notice in "Return Request" envolope and it sent back to TSC.

After aproval they changed our address in the 485 file (Aproved on Aug 7th 2007, and changed address on Aug 14th 2007) and sent us a address change letter after the approval (at that time we already got our plastic green card).

Due to return of "Approval notice" i got online update and when i called them they sent us back to our approval notice to our new address (Aug 29th 2007).

Even more interesting it that my EAD and AP is still pending although i got my physical card last month.
