Hello all,
My I-485 application was received by TSC in May 2001, but the receipt date is August 2001. However, last December I went back to my country and got married. Now I intend to add my wife\'s name to my 485 applicaton as an addendum. I know it\'s possible, but I have some questions, any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. What documents do I need (i.e. marriage certificate, wife\'s photo, wedding pictures?? )
2. Is there any special for that I will have to fill out for this "follow to add" procedure?
3. Will it delay the usual processing time, if I add my wife\'s name?

Thanks again.

List of docs

1. all the standard 485 forms.
2. Brith certificate
3. Employer letter.
4. G-28 if there is lawyer.
5. H4 copy.
6. Your 485 receipt .

These are list I did when I added my wife.

H4 copy?

When you say H4 copy, is it the stamped visa on the passport?

I have been thinking about this when I filed my papers. When I came on my first job, I had the H1 papers with me. But they did not give any for my spouse and son. Should I have had a copy of it?

thanks guys, but

Thank you all for responding to my query.
But you all are talking about H4.. she is not on H4 she is not even here in this country, she is still back home.

Now, do I still need copies of her passport???

No Title

To apply I-485 (adjustment of status), the applicant has to be physically present in US. So, before you can add her to your I-485, she has to come here on H4 or similar dependant visa. Alternatively CP can be filed for her while she is still in your home country.

CP can be approved

only after your 485 approval (follow to join). So bring her into US first in H4. then file 485.
